GLB Copenhagen/Odense is 3-time winner of The Gazelle Award

This prize recognises businesses which more than double their revenue or gross profit in period of 4 years

We would like to congratulate YOYO Global Freight, as a 3 time winner of the Gazelle Award.international logistics

The Gazelle awards were launched by The Daily Børsen (the equivalent of The Financial Times in Denmark) in 1995 in a bid to identify Denmark’s growth elite. This prize recognises businesses which more than double their revenue or gross profit in a period of 4 years. During the selection process, very strict criteria are applied to the more than 760,000 registered companies in Denmark. The demands on activity and corporate form, profitability and continuous growth reduced the number of candidates to a mere 6,000 companies, of which less than 1,800 achieved more than 100% growth in 2016.

YOYO has been awarded Gazelle recognition in 2014, 2015 and 2016 and they are well on their way to qualifying for a fourth year in a row. A big congratulations to the team!

Due to this growth, the number of staff has also increased, with YOYO now planning to move to their new headquarters, which will be ready by summer 2018.

GLB Haiphong – steel structure shipment to India

Our GLB agent in Haiphong has been busy with shipments of steel structure recently as part of the Barth Super Thermal Power project in India

Three shipments (adding up to 60,000cbm) were required to transport the huge structures (some of them as big as 28.2m x 2.92m x 3.60m and weighing up to 56,000kgs) from Haiphong to Haldia, India. Although this was no longer a challenge for the A&L Cargo team, who are already experts in handling this type of breakbulk assignments and smoothly managed the loading and discharging at both ends as well as the dunnage, lashing and securing of the cargo on vessel.

A very special pizza delivery

MEA CARGO, GLB Chicago, recently teamed up with Non-Profit organization Pizzas4Patriots to deliver 1,400 pizzas to deployed troops in Afghanistan and Kandahar in time for this year’s 4th July.

The logistics effort required shouldn’t be underestimated, as after delivering the frozen pizzas to Kabul airport with the collaboration of Emirates Airlines, the yummy goods then required military transport and inspection to reach the designated delivery areas in time for troops to enjoy them as part of their 4th of July celebrations.

GLB Port Klang gets creative

Our GLB agent in Port Klang recently handled the ex-work shipment of a boiler from Port Klang to Semarang, but this shipment turned out to be more challenging than initially expected.

Famor Malaysia Sdn Bhd managed the loading, lashing and securing for this buyer consolidated ex-work shipment (3 shippers & 1 buyer). However, after packing the cargo, the boiler machine was 8ft 8inches in height, which resulted in over height. Their client did not want the additional cost of an open top 40′, so Famor Malaysia Sdn Bhd had to be creative and came up with the solution of cutting a portion of the top of the container to accommodate the cargo.
