The shipment that was sent from Portugal to Tunisia necessitated the use of specialized equipment

Sunvilog, Globalia member in Porto, Portugal, has efficiently transported a drying station system from Portugal to Tunisia. With over 25 years of experience, they expertly handled the complex shipment involving multiple stages and specialized equipment. This operation highlighted their skill to manage complex shipments and and delivering innovative services.

The shipment originated in Portugal and was destined for Sfax, Tunisia. The drying station system, a sizable and intricate piece of equipment, required meticulous planning and coordination. Jose Carlos Silva, Manager at Sunvilog, detailed the specifics of the shipment: “We utilized 40′ Open Top (OT) and Flat Rack (FR) container due to the dimensions of the cargo, which required special inland transport arrangements.”

The team arranged special inland transport for the oversized cargo, loaded it onto a flat rack, and then transported it to the departure harbor in Portugal. From there, Maersk ensured the shipment’s safe passage to Sfax, Tunisia.

Sunvilog, which provides air, maritime, express, and land transport solutions, additionally supported this shipment with lashing, securing, and packaging. ‘We loaded all the cargo in a single shipment, making all necessary arrangements, including special inland transport, cranes, lashing, and more,’ Silva explained. “The complexity of the operation required careful coordination and expert handling to ensure the safety and integrity of the cargo throughout the journey.”

This shipment presented several challenges, particularly due to the size and weight of the drying station system. However, their experience and thorough planning ensured a smooth and successful transport.

Feroniki SA International Shipping and Forwarding Logistics Services, Globalia member in Piraeus, Greece, teamed up with Euko Logistics, Globalia member in Frankfurt, Germany, to move a shipment of a semi-automatic die cutter. The cargo was moved from Busan, South Korea, to Sofia, Bulgaria, via Thessaloniki Port with a 40 flat rack container. While Euko Logistics arranged for sea freight from Busan to Thessaloniki Port, Feroniki SA was in charge of custom procedures at the port and delivery to Sofia.

The cargo which weighed 30,000 Kg necessitated the arrangement for special trucks, road permission and escort vehicles for the road transport.

“We were pressed for time while the Labour Day holiday and the COVID-19 lockdown also added to our worries. However, timely coordination on part of both the teams allowed us to hand over the shipment to the consignee right on time!
